Death Train Structure
Learn about train cars, placement slots, and optimal positioning strategies in Death Train.
Train Overview
Mobile Base
Your train is not just transportation - it's your mobile base. Unlike traditional tower defense games, the track is dynamic, and you must place units strategically on or around the train to survive.
Continuous Movement
The train moves continuously through waves, creating a unique gameplay experience where positioning and timing are crucial.
The Gem Core
The Gem is located on your train and must be protected at all costs. If zombies reach and damage it, your run ends.
Train Cars
Front Cars
Front cars are the most valuable placement locations. Units placed here have maximum range and firing time as the train moves toward zombie groups.
- Engage enemies earlier
- More time to deal damage
- Better line of sight
- Priority placement for high-value units
Middle Cars
Middle cars provide good coverage and are suitable for supporting units or secondary damage dealers.
Rear Cars
Rear cars are less ideal but can be used for backup units or bait structures. They engage enemies later in the encounter.
Unit Placement Slots
Slot Availability
The number of available unit slots depends on your Gem level. Upgrading the Gem unlocks more slots, allowing you to deploy more units.
Slot Strategy
- Fill all available slots with upgraded units
- Prioritize high-value units for limited slots
- Use cheaper units as bait if you have extra slots
- Maximize DPS per slot
Upgrade Path
Early game, you have limited slots. Focus on quality over quantity. As you upgrade the Gem, you'll unlock more slots for a larger army.
Placement Strategies
Front Car Priority
Always place your best units on the front cars. They'll have the most impact and engagement time.
Coverage Zones
Spread units across different cars to create overlapping coverage zones. This ensures no area is left undefended.
Bait Placement
Place non-essential structures at the edge of train cars to bait zombie attacks away from your main damage-dealers.
AoE Positioning
Position AoE units where they have clear line of sight to the center of the track to maximize splash damage effectiveness.
