Wave Management Guide

Master wave mechanics and learn how to handle different wave types effectively in Death Train.

Wave Progression

Waves in Death Train progress automatically as your train moves. Each wave brings new challenges and requires different strategies.

Early Waves (1-10)

Basic zombies, manageable with starter units. Focus on building economy.

Mid Waves (11-20)

Mix of regular and elite enemies. Upgrade units and Gem.

Late Waves (21-28)

Heavy elite presence. AoE units essential for survival.

Boss Waves

Every few waves (e.g., Wave 20), a boss or a large group of heavy units will appear. These require special preparation.

  • Save gold before boss waves to upgrade units if needed
  • Focus all firepower on the boss
  • May require multiple high-tier units or upgraded defenses
  • Use AoE units to clear accompanying enemies

Endless Mode (Wave 28+)

By Wave 28+, the number of zombies becomes overwhelming. Single-target units will be ineffective.

AoE Priority

Prioritize AoE units like Lightning Cannon and Stone Launcher. These are the only way to handle massive hordes.

Maximize Deployment

Fill all available unit slots with upgraded AoE units for maximum DPS.

Halt Minimally

Keep wave momentum by halting minimally. Only halt when absolutely necessary.

Wave Strategy Tips

  • Prepare for boss waves by saving resources
  • Upgrade units before waves get too difficult
  • Focus on AoE units for late-game survival
  • Don't halt during critical waves
  • Use the 5-wave rule before halting
  • Monitor wave progression and adjust strategy accordingly
